Life's New Beginnings is a non-profit organization established for the sole purpose of increasing public awareness of Domestic Violence and how it affects all of us.

Domestic Violence-Write Your State Senators

Ending domestic violence will take the involvement and cooperation of every individual, organization, business and government leader.

Life's New Beginnings is based in the state of Tennessee and this site was originally built to promote public awareness of domestic violence in that state.  For that reason, we will provide assistance in writing letters to Tennessee state senators.

Before viewing these letters, we ask that you read our Terms of Use Policy below.

How to use these letters:

  1. Open the letter you want to view.
  2. "Copy" the entire letter and "Paste" into your text editor (Microsoft Word, Wordpad, etc.)
  3. Make the necessary changes and enter your personal information.
  4. Print, sign and mail the letter.

Sample Letter To Senator Lamar Alexander (TN)

Sample Letter To Senator Bob Corker (TN)

Until we are able to provide the addresses of all U. S. Senators in all states, you can find the names and mailing addresses of your state senators here:

www.senate.gov

If you use these letters outside the state of Tennessee, you will obviously need to enter domestic violence statistics for your state.  You can usually find these statistics in your state domestic violence coalition's web site - you can use the "Search Box" at the top of this page and search for -domestic violence coalition (your state)- Example "domestic violence coalition GA".

Terms of Use

Our state senators are elected by us, the people, and we have every right to contact them if and when we feel the need arises.

Some people never write their state senators for several reasons:  don't know who they are, don't know the address, don't know how to address a state senator, or may not know what to say in the letter or other correspondence.

We have provided "Sample" letters to our Tennessee state senators.  You have our permission to use the letters in their entirety, portions of the letters, or not use any part of the letters and write the complete letter in your own words.

At least, we have provided you with the correct addresses.

We, in no way, are trying to tell you what to say to your state senator, but if you believe and understand the message of this "Sample" letter, it may help you make your voice heard.

If you choose to use this letter, it is very important that you DO NOT just print it and mail it.  The date of the letter needs to be the date you write it.  Also, at the bottom of the letter, your name; your address; your phone number; and your e-mail address must be entered.  The letter should also be signed by you.
